Critical Illness Insurance

What Is Critical Illness Insurance, and Why Is It Important?

Critical Illness insurance* is an individual health policy that pays a lump-sum benefit upon diagnosis of a life threatening illness as defined in the policy.

Critical Illness Insurance helps fill the financial gaps not covered by traditional health, disability, life and accident insurance.** Recovery from a critical illness is often lengthy and expensive – involving the loss of personal wages and your ability to pay for care and treatment. This insurance can help to cover indirect costs associated with the illness such as insurance co-payments and deductibles, home health care, and uncovered or additional prescription drugs, as defined in the policy.
